Points / frequency: 6 points/month per inmate at both the FCI and the camp (SCP). Weekday visit = 1 point, weekend visit = 2 points (FCI); at the camp all weekend visits = 2 points. Federal holidays don't cost points. No rollover; once exhausted, no visiting until the next month. Camp visits are first-come, first-served.

Visiting can be cancelled for lockdowns, weather or count problems. Call the facility the day before you travel.

Dress code

  • No khaki-colored clothing (FCI only — resembles the inmate uniform)
  • No sunglasses (except prescription) or hats/caps, except religious headwear
  • No see-through, sleeveless, or tank-top style tops
  • No miniskirts or any dress/skirt that exposes the knee or above while seated
  • No excessively tight-fitting pants
  • No open-toe or open-heel footwear (flip-flops, sandals, Crocs)
  • No shorts on adults (children under 16 may wear shorts)
  • No watches

You may bring

  • Valid government photo ID for visitors 16 and older
  • One credit card (vending machines don't take cash) in a clear see-through change purse or billfold
  • Baby items: 5 diapers, one pacifier, baby formula in see-through bottles, baby food in see-through containers
  • Life-sustaining medication, shown to the Visiting Room Officer for documentation

Not allowed

  • Cell phones, car keys, large purses or bags (leave locked in your vehicle)
  • Outside food (except baby food for infants)
  • Strollers or other baby-carrying devices
  • Any item or document passed to or received from the inmate
  • Smoking of any kind (strictly prohibited)

Good to know

ID requirements
Visitors 16 and older must show valid government (federal or state) photo ID before entering. Staff verify ID again at multiple checkpoints using a black-light hand stamp.
Children
Children under 18 may only visit under the direct, continuous supervision of a responsible adult who is an approved visitor for the same inmate; the supervising adult must have a Visitor Information form on file. Only children under 16 are allowed to wear shorts.
Vending machines
Vending machines are in the Visiting Room, but they only accept a credit card (not cash). Only the visitor may buy from them; anything purchased for the inmate must be emptied onto a plate before handing it over, and vending items may not be shared.

One credit card only (vending machines are credit-card operated; no cash is mentioned as allowed)
  • FCI and camp (SCP) visiting hours are the same: Saturday, Sunday, and federal holidays, 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.; everyone must be out of the Visiting Room by 3:30 p.m.
  • No inmate movement to/from the Visiting Room between 9:30-10:00 a.m. for the institutional standup count
  • A private nursing area for infants is available inside the visiting room (the vacant attorney room)
  • Once a visitor leaves the Visiting Room they can't return until the next scheduled visiting day
  • SHU (Special Housing Unit) inmates get non-contact video visits only, weekends/holidays, by advance request
