Visiting can be cancelled for lockdowns, weather or count problems. Call the facility the day before you travel.

Dress code

  • No sleeveless, backless, or halter tops; no bare midriffs or body suits
  • No shorts (except children 12 and under), sweatpants, or bathing suits
  • No miniskirts — skirts/dresses must be knee-length or longer, no slits or skin-tight fabric
  • No see-through clothing, and no khaki (FCI) or dark green (SCP) colored clothing
  • No hats, caps, or open-toed shoes; shirts required at all times

You may bring

  • Valid government photo ID (16 and older)
  • One clear coin purse (max 9x9 inches) with up to $25 in coins
  • Life-essential medication (limited to the amount needed during the visit)
  • For infants: clear diaper bag (max 15x10x3 inches) with 2 diapers, unopened wipes, 2 clear bottles, 2 small sealed baby food jars, one receiving blanket

Not allowed

  • Purses/bags, cell phones, pagers, or other electronics; watches, hats, ball caps
  • Pictures, packages, letters, or gifts for the inmate
  • Dollar bills or any coins over $25
  • Food, gum, candy, children's toys
  • Strollers or similar carrying devices

Good to know

ID requirements
Visitors 16 and older must present valid state or government photo ID (driver's license, state ID, military ID, or passport); non-photo IDs (credit cards, birth certificates, Social Security cards) are not accepted.
Children
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult on the inmate's approved visiting list and don't count toward the 5-adult-visitor limit. FCI inmates can't enter the children's play area; SCP inmates can.
Vending machines
Vending machines are for visitors only; inmates may not use or possess money. Purchased sealed snacks must be opened so contents are visible; sharing food with inmates is prohibited at the FCI.
Money you may bring
One clear coin purse (max 9x9 inches) with up to $25.00 in coins only — no dollar bills
  • FCI visits Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and federal holidays; SCP visits Saturday, Sunday, and holidays only (no Monday)
  • Breastfeeding is allowed in the visiting room with discretion
  • A greeting/farewell kiss and embrace is allowed only at the start and end of the visit; no hand-holding at the FCI (children under 8 may sit on an inmate's lap)
  • FCI visitors are escorted out only on the hour and half-hour
