Dress code

  • No holes, spandex, or tight-fitting pants (yoga pants, leggings, jeggings)
  • No midriff, strapless, sheer, or otherwise revealing tops
  • No military-style clothing: field jackets, camo, khaki, or fatigues
  • No shorts, tank tops, or sleeveless tops; shoulders must be covered
  • No brown, beige, khaki, or tan clothing (looks like the inmate uniform)
  • No hats, caps, bandanas, or head coverings except approved religious wear
  • No open-toe/flip-flop shoes without a heel strap; shoes required for kids too
  • No sunglasses, scarves, gloves, smartwatches, or fitness trackers

You may bring

  • Valid state or government-issued photo ID for every visitor 16 or older
  • Up to $40 per adult in coins or $1/$5 bills, for vending machines only
  • One small clear coin purse, no bigger than 3" x 5"
  • Only the medication needed during the visit (e.g. inhalers, nitroglycerin tablets)
  • For infants: up to 4 diapers, 8 wipes, 3 clear baby bottles, 4 small jars of baby food

Not allowed

  • Cell phones, cameras, or any recording device (unless written Warden approval)
  • Outside food, drinks, gum, gifts, or money handed directly to the inmate
  • Newspapers, magazines, books, photo albums, photos, or reading material
  • Toys, games, cards, needlework, or baby strollers/carriers
  • Tobacco or smoking of any kind anywhere in the Visiting Room

Good to know

ID requirements
Every visitor 16 or older must show a valid state or government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, or military ID) to enter. At check-in, one hand is stamped with an invisible 'black light' mark that is checked again before leaving the Visiting Room; visitors who lose the stamp are held until a Lieutenant can re-verify their identity.
Children
Children under 16 must already be on the inmate's approved visiting list and stay under an adult's direct supervision at all times. Visitors 16-17 need their own photo ID, and if arriving without a parent/guardian, written consent from a non-incarcerated parent or guardian. Anyone bringing a child to visit must have submitted the child's official birth certificate to prove parental rights or guardianship before approval.
Vending machines
Visitors may buy food from vending machines for the inmate, but it must be eaten in the Visiting Room. Money cannot be handed to the inmate directly, and inmates cannot go to the machines themselves.

Up to $40 per adult, only in coins or $1/$5 bills, for vending machine purchases only
  • General visiting is Sunday, Monday, and federal holidays only, 7:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
  • Be in the Front Lobby (FCI) or Camp Lobby (SCP) by about 9:00-9:30 a.m. for the 10 a.m. stand-up count, or you may be delayed
  • New admissions stop around noon (12:00 p.m. FCI / 12:30 p.m. camp) since visiting ends at 1 p.m.
  • Anything not on the approved-items list must be left in your vehicle; storage at the institution is very limited
  • If more than 3 adults arrive for one inmate, ask about a 'split visit' to rotate visitors
