Visiting can be cancelled for lockdowns, weather or count problems. Call the facility the day before you travel.

Dress code

  • No open-toed shoes, crocs, or bare feet (except babies)
  • No shorts, mini-skirts, or culottes
  • No sheer, skin-tight, or excessively tight clothing (leggings, skinny jeans)
  • No sleeveless, halter, backless, midriff, or low-cut tops
  • No dresses above the knee while seated
  • No underwire or metal-clasp bras (a sports bra is best)
  • No heeled or platform-sole shoes
  • No ball caps, hats, bandanas, do-rags, or khaki/camo/fluorescent-orange clothing

You may bring

  • Valid photo ID for all visitors age 16 and older (driver's license preferred)
  • One clear wallet or coin purse (max 8"x8"x8") with only money and ID
  • Baby items: up to 4 diapers, 4 sealed food containers, 4 bottles, 1 crib-size blanket
  • One small clear/paper diaper bag (max 8"x8"x8") for baby or feminine hygiene items
  • One day's worth of prescription medication (held at the officer's station)

Not allowed

  • Cell phones and cameras
  • Cash or coins (use the prepaid vending card instead)
  • Food or beverages
  • Purses, watches, car keys, or non-religious/non-medical headgear
  • Weapons, alcohol, or narcotics
  • Papers or documents to exchange with the inmate

Good to know

ID requirements
All visitors age 16+ must show valid photo ID (driver's license or other government photo ID with name and signature), sign the Notification to Visitors and Declaration of Contraband forms, sign the visitor log, and pass through a metal detector and X-ray screening.
Children
Approved visitors under 16 must be accompanied by an approved adult visitor. The inmate and visitors are responsible for supervising children at all times and keeping them from wandering or disrupting others in the visiting room.
Vending machines
Vending machines and microwaves are available for visitors. No cash is allowed past screening; buy a $5 TBS vending card at the Front Lobby/Message Center (preloaded with $2, reloadable up to $99).

No cash accepted or held by visiting room staff; purchases use a prepaid TBS vending card ($5 to buy, max balance $99)
  • Two processing windows each visiting day: arrive by 9:15 a.m. or by 2:15 p.m.
  • Vending machines and microwaves are available in the visiting room
  • Buy the $5 TBS vending card at the Front Lobby (FCI) or Message Center (Camp) before your visit
  • If overcrowded, local or more frequent visitors may be asked to leave first
  • Once you leave the visiting area you cannot re-enter until the next visiting day
