Points / frequency: FCI, FSL, and FPC each give inmates 12 visiting points per month. Each weekday visit deducts 2 points; each weekend/holiday visit deducts 3 points. Points reset to 12 at the start of each month. Attorney, legal aid, law enforcement, and minister-of-record visits do not use points.

Visiting can be cancelled for lockdowns, weather or count problems. Call the facility the day before you travel.

Dress code

  • Must follow the adult and pre-teen (12+) dress code; watches are not allowed in any facility, including FSL/FPC
  • No clothing resembling inmate uniforms: orange, khaki, or green (FPC only) colored clothing
  • No hats (except religious headwear), hooded clothing, sweat/jogging suits, or sleeveless shirts
  • No dresses/skirts hemmed above the knee, see-through/sheer fabric, halter or tube tops
  • No spandex, yoga pants, leggings, jeggings, form-fitting or skin-tight clothing, or midriff-baring tops
  • No shorts, flip-flops, open-toe shoes, or camouflage clothing; all footwear needs a back strap
  • Jewelry limited to a wedding band, one set of earrings, and one necklace

You may bring

  • Valid government photo ID (driver's license, passport, or other state/federal photo ID) for visitors 16+
  • One small clear plastic bag with up to $30 in money per visitor
  • For small children: 3 diapers, 2 clear bottles with formula or milk, 1 small baby blanket, 1 pacifier, a small amount of baby wipes (chewing gum is not allowed)
  • Female visitors may bring 2 feminine hygiene pads or tampons
  • Life-supporting medication only (must be declared at the front entrance and stays at the officers' station)

Not allowed

  • Cell phones, electronic devices, and watches of any kind
  • Gum or bubble gum of any kind
  • Any food or beverage from outside (except baby bottles that clear the metal detector)
  • Cameras or recording equipment
  • Anything given to an inmate other than vending-machine items

Good to know

ID requirements
Visitors 16 and older must present a valid form of governmental photo ID (driver's license, passport, or other state/federal ID); those under 16 accompanied by a parent/legal guardian are exempt.
Children
Children under 16 may not visit unless accompanied by an approved responsible adult 18 or older, who must supervise them. Inmates may hold, carry, or seat infants/toddlers on their laps despite the no-contact rule. A staffed Children's Room is available (closes 15 minutes before visiting ends); parents must discipline children without hitting, yelling, or other abuse.
Vending machines
Vending machines are available. Visitors may not give anything to an inmate except vending-machine items, and may not share any vending item with the inmate. Purchased items must be opened at the machine and emptied onto a provided plate or cup.
Money you may bring
Up to $30 per visitor, carried in one small clear plastic bag
  • Privacy screens are available for nursing mothers in the visiting room; only the mother and infant may be behind the screen
  • Handshaking, embracing, and kissing are allowed only at the beginning and end of the visit — no physical contact (including hand-holding) during the visit itself, aside from holding small children
  • If the visiting room becomes overcrowded, visits may be cut to a 2-hour maximum, prioritizing visitors from outside a 200-mile radius
  • Individual secured lockers are available for unauthorized items; staff will not hold items for visitors
