LSCI (Low): 12 points/month. 2 points are deducted per visit regardless of length; no points deducted for federal-holiday visits, PVS, legal, or minister-of-record visits. Extra points beyond the monthly allotment require advance written approval from the Associate Warden.

Visiting can be cancelled for lockdowns, weather or count problems. Call the facility the day before you travel.

Dress code

  • No tight-fitting, stretch, see-through, or torn/ripped clothing
  • No khaki, tan, beige, light-brown, or gray sweat-colored clothing (resembles inmate uniform)
  • Shorts, skirts, and dresses no more than 1 inch above the knee; no hoodies, sweatpants, or jogging shorts
  • No tank tops, muscle shirts, halter tops, or midriff-baring shirts; shoulders must be covered
  • No open-toed or open-back shoes, flip-flops, or plain white T-shirt as the only shirt
  • No hats, caps, bandanas, sweatbands, or head coverings, except approved religious headwear
  • No watches of any kind, sunglasses, or scarves
  • Female visitors must wear a bra; no camouflage, gang, or club-related clothing/symbols

You may bring

  • Valid government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, or alien ID card) for visitors 16 and older
  • Small clear plastic change purse or Ziploc-style bag only (no large purses or tote bags)
  • Up to $50 in cash per adult (quarters, $1, and $5 bills) for the vending machines
  • Limited baby-care items for infants (diapers, bottles with prepared formula, one blanket no larger than 2'x3')
  • Necessary life-sustaining medication (heart, asthma, epilepsy) in a moderate amount
  • Up to two feminine hygiene items (tampons or pads)

Not allowed

  • Cell phones, smart watches, and all electronic/communication devices (must stay locked in your vehicle)
  • Cameras or recording equipment; food or drinks brought from outside the institution
  • Tobacco products of any kind (FCC Allenwood is a tobacco-free institution)
  • Games, toys, newspapers, magazines, photos, or makeup
  • Weapons, ammunition, illegal drugs, or alcohol (also prohibited in vehicles on institution grounds)
  • Baby strollers, baby-carrying devices, or baby items beyond the listed allowance

Good to know

ID requirements
Visitors 16 and older must present valid picture ID: a driver's license, current passport with photo, or alien registration card with photo. School IDs, financial-institution cards, and expired, altered, or 'not valid for federal purposes' IDs are not accepted.
Children
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian who is on the inmate's approved visiting list and must stay under that adult's continuous supervision, including in the restroom and play area. Visitors 16 and older must complete their own visitor's form and carry valid photo ID.
Vending machines
Vending machines sell sandwiches, soft drinks, and candy. Only visitors may buy from them (inmates cannot access the machines or handle money); food bought must be eaten before the visitor leaves the visiting room, and no outside food or drink is allowed.
Money you may bring
Up to $50 in U.S. currency per adult visitor, in quarters, $1 bills, and $5 bills only, for use in the vending machines
  • Arrive on time; visitor processing stops at 2:00 p.m. and everyone must be escorted out by 3:00 p.m. (first in, first out)
  • Groups are escorted out in batches of no more than 10 people (max 5 adults) including children
  • Once you're checked into the institution, you cannot return to your vehicle or leave the visiting area without ending the visit
  • Expect a walk-through metal detector, a black-light hand stamp check, and random ion-scan drug testing
  • There is no public transit near FCC Allenwood; arrange your own vehicle or private transportation in advance
